From our Founder

I knew that when I started this business, I wanted to give back a portion of purchases to support an organization that truly meant something to me, one that is working to support a cause that is close to my heart.

Every family has their hardships and for mine, we’ve dealt first-hand with the challenges that come from having loved ones battling their own demons and going in and out of the prison system.

Recidivism rates in Oregon state show that within three years of release from prison or from a felony jail sentence, 12.5% of people are reincarcerated for a new felony crime, 40.5% are convicted of a new misdemeanor or felony crime, and 51.2% are arrested for a new crime.

In my search for the right organization to support that aligns with my values, I came across The Pathfinder Network. The Pathfinder Network “provides justice system-impacted individuals and families the tools and support they need to be safe and thrive in our communities.”

Their team works to provide programs and services for incarcerated individuals through the Oregon Department of Corrections and for parents, children, and families in the community. Collectively, their programs have served 40,000+ justice-involved individuals and their families. I appreciate the work that The Pathfinder Network is doing to uplift not only the individuals themselves, but their children and families, too.

We envision communities that welcome all people, provide second chances, and create pathways to change.

As this is the first year of PDX LINKED being established, I plan on donating a portion of total purchases on a quarterly basis to The Pathfinder Network. I also plan on keeping this page updated with the progress of our Giving Back donations quarter-over-quarter so our partners, customers, family, and friends can see the direct impact when they choose to shop with PDX LINKED and in turn, support The Pathfinder Network.

If you have questions or ideas on how we can strengthen this partnership or our impact, I’d love to hear from you. Thank you to every person who has taken the time to read this and who chooses kindness, not judgment, to those in our prison system. To my Uncle Tim, I will always love and support you.
